Life in Moto3 has been pretty smooth sailing for 16 year-old Pedro Acosta after just three races. The Spanish rider opened his rookie campaign with a second in Qatar – before winning the second race at Losail from pit lane – while a last lap battle with Leopard Racing’s Dennis Foggia in Portimao, saw last year’s Red Bull Rookies Cup winner produce a calculated and mature performance beyond his years to come out victorious.  Acosta’s seamless transition to the Moto3 class has wowed even the most accomplished of riders such as Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez, but credit also has to go to the Red Bull KTM Ajo team, which is one of the most accomplished and well managed teams in the paddock. Acosta could make it three consecutive wins come Sunday, which would also make it four from four on the year for the team, but the Spaniard is looking to ‘just have fun’ and go into it without expectations. “I face this Grand Prix with no expectations. I think that we worked well both in Qatar and in Portimao. My goals are to work with the team and just have fun every time I go out on track,” added Acosta. “In Qatar we had tests and we got the bike more prepared, so that during the final 3 days we only needed to fine tune details. Related ArticlesaccImages.createImage(); Rossi: Acosta’s impact on Moto3 ‘unbelievable’, a ‘great talent’accImages.createImage(); Pedro Acosta: I thought okay, I have to overtake here “In Portugal we had to start from scratch with the KTM, and that made me learn not to get nervous at other Grands Prix. “Jerez is a circuit that I like quite a lot. Racing at home is always special and my results there have always been good. It’s a shame that the fans can’t be there.”
