BRISA COMMERCIAL TIRE GROUP REACHES 82 PERCENT LOCALIZATION

 

According to the data shared at the assessment meeting held at the company’s smart factory in Aksaray; the global heavy commercial tire market continues to grow steadily. In 2018, the heavy commercial tire market grew by 3% and reached 208 million units and it is expected to grow by 9% and reach a total of 228 million units in the next 5 years. Meanwhile, although the heavy commercial tire grew by 7,9% percent in Turkey in the last 5 years, it has declined by 2,4% in 2018 compared to the previous year and fell to 2,4 million units. In the domestic market, sales are expected to grow by 16% and reach a total of 2,8 million units in the next 5 years.

“We Became the First Company in Our Sector to Realize the Domestic Production Logo Practice”

Brisa Marketing Director Evren Güzel said: “Despite last year’s decline, Turkish heavy commercial vehicle tire market still has a strong potential. As Turkey grew its heavy commercial vehicle park by 12,7% in the last 10 years, it has the largest commercial vehicle park in the Eastern and Central European Regions; which reinforces that potential. In 2018, we’ve become the top choice of both renewal and OEM markets, and continued our strong cooperation with the strongest vehicle manufacturers of the sector. We became the first company in our sector to realize the domestic production logo practice on our Bridgestone, Lassa and Dayton tires manufactured in Turkey. We’ve strengthened our position as the leading brand of the sector with our Lassa brand. We’ve reached a localization rate of 82% in the commercial tire group. We’ve manufactured 100% of our Dayton brand’s regional segment products at our İzmit factory.”

“There Is an Increasing Demand for Systems That Can Predict the Lifetime of Tires”

“In addition, the sector is reshaped by the uninterrupted travelling experience. This transformation will begin with the expansion of autonomous driving and electric vehicles and with it, the demands from the tire sector are also changing. Accordingly, we’re now focusing on developing tires with technical features like longer lifetime, fuel economy, better handling and traction capabilities as well as low rolling resistance at our certified R&D Centre located at our İzmit Factory. On the other hand, services are also going through a transformation as the number of fleets continue to increase. There is now an increasing demand for systems that can predict the lifetime of tires and we’re focused on meeting these demands.”

“A Fleet of 100 Vehicles That Take Advantage of Smart Services Would Annually Save, On Average, 1 Million 722 Thousand TL”

Güzel has indicated that they are leading the transformation of the heavy commercial sector with their smart services and said: “We’re the leader of the commercial vehicle tire sector with our service diversity. Thanks to the total value package we offer with Profleet fleet management solutions, we make a significant contribution to the efficiency, profitability and sustainability of the business and operational processes of our business partners and fleet customers. Today, a fleet of 100 vehicles that take advantage of Brisa’s smart services would annually save, on average, 1 million 722 thousand TL. If all these services were offered to all the fleets in Turkey, the total value outcome would be 16,6 billion TL.”

“Brisa Will Strengthen Its Bonds and Maintain Its Leadership”

Güzel has stated that they’re providing all these services with a strong team on the field and said: “We’re putting both our minds and our hearts into the field. Inch by inch, we’re memorising the fields of our customers with an exclusive field team of 105 employees. So far, we’ve performed measurements on a total of 3 million tires. In 2018, we’ve made 6000 field visits to provide the best solutions to fleets. We’ve signed agreements with 120 fleets for our Profleet services and 600 new fleet customers have chosen the Brisa brands for their tires. On the other hand, we’ve supported our individual customers on the field through exclusive applications. We headed down into Turkish roads for the health of our long-haul drivers with our Be Safe Before You Hit the Road project. We’ve listened to the needs of our truckers and formed friendships. In 2019, Brisa will strengthen its bonds and maintain its leadership.”

Thanks to its strong presence on the field, Brisa detects the needs of its fleet customers and offers 360 degrees of solutions with its specially designed ‘Profleet’ services. Fuel and tire are the two biggest cost items for fleets. With its distinctive services for these items ranging from tire measurements to efficient and safe driving courses, the company conducts activities in various areas. The company monitors the tires of its fleet customers in real-time and ensures seamless operation as well as increased profits through detailed analysis and directions.

Brisa has announced that in 2019, it will continue to invest in services that improve the efficiency and operational processes and reduce the costs of its customers and business partners.
