Full MotoE E-Pole qualifying results from AustriaMike Di Meglio has claimed pole position for the second round of the inaugural MotoE World Cup after pace-setter Hector Garzo failed to follow up his speed in the E-Pole shootout.With Di Meglio setting the provisional pole time of 1m 35.182s at the hot and greasy Red Bull Ring, the EG 0,0 Marc VDS rider was one-tenth slower than the best times set in practice.But Garzo, last out in qualifying after topping practice, struggled to keep his lap together over the final two sectors which saw him drop down to sixth place and hand Di Meglio pole position in Austria.Former MotoGP rider Xavier Simeon was the one of the biggest improver in E-Pole compared to the practice times by taking second place for Avintia Esponsorama Racing as Bradley Smith, podium finisher in the opening round, completed the front row for One Energy Racing.Jesko Raffin secured fourth place in qualifying for Dynavolt Intact GP ahead of the first-ever MotoE race-winner Niki Tuuli in fifth place for Ajo MotoE.With Garzo completing the second row, Matteo Ferrari will line up in seventh place for Trentino Gresini MotoE ahead of Alex de Angelis (Octo Pramac MotoE) and Eric Granado (Avintia Esponsorama Racing) who dropped from third in practice to ninth in qualifying. Maria Herrera completed the top 10 on the OpenBank Angel Nieto Team.Mattia Casadei became the first er in a MotoE E-Pole session, low-siding off at the Turn 3 hairpin, leaving him to start at the back of the grid after failing to set a lap time.The Ongetta SIC58 Squadracorse rider was joined by Randy de Puniet (LCR E-Team) and Nicolas Terol (OpenBank Angel Nieto Team) in losing the chance to set a lap time with the pair both having their lap times deleted for exceeding track limits.
