Andrea Dovizioso says his moral is “sky-high” following a much-needed victory last time out at the Austrian MotoGP as he prepares to attack at Silverstone in his bid to keep the title race alive.The Ducati rider trimmed Marc Marquez’s lead down to 58 points with victory at the Red Bull Ring, his first win since the 2019 opener at Qatar, and following a tough run of results before the summer break he feels rejuvenated ahead of the final third of the season.Having secured the last MotoGP victory at Silverstone back in 2017, following the cancellation of the 2018 round, Dovizioso feels he can take his new-found momentum back to the British track as he looks to continue to chip away at Marquez’s advantage.“Nothing gives you more satisfaction and confidence than a victory, and so we come to Silverstone with our moral sky-high,” Dovizioso said.“Our result at the Red Bull Ring didn’t come about by chance, because we worked really well over the two successive race weekends and the results proved us to be right.“Even though the characteristics of the British track are not as favourable to us as Brno and Zeltweg, we have already shown that we can also be quick at Silverstone, like in 2017 when we won the race.“As always, the weather will play an important part and we have to be ready to adapt to any circumstances.”The 33-year-old has fond memories competing on English soil having taken his first premier class win at Donington Park in 2009 while competing for the Repsol Honda squad, following up that feat at Silverstone for Ducati two years ago.Dovizioso has also tasted victory at the British round during his 125cc (2004) and 250cc (2007) days, making the event his most successful across his Grand Prix career.
