We may be just one week into the new year, but already a quarter of the Formula 1 grid for the 2021 season has been confirmed.Max Verstappen’s confirmation at Red Bull on a new three-year deal taking him to the end of 2023 put an early end to one of the biggest silly season talking points, the Dutchman having previously been linked to both Mercedes and Ferrari. With Charles Leclerc also confirmed to be staying put at Ferrari just before Christmas, attention now turns to six-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who is set to open talks with Mercedes over a new deal in the coming weeks. Hamilton is known to have met with Ferrari before, but could a move to replace Sebastian Vettel really happen?Elsewhere, three drivers further down the grid have also been confirmed for 2021 already. Esteban Ocon signed a two-year deal with Renault, starting this season, while Sergio Perez’s three-year Racing Point contract runs to the end of 2022.Finally, Mercedes junior George Russell is locked down at Williams on a three-year deal that ends in 2021, barring an early recall from his parent squad. Here’s a look at how the grid for the 2021 season is shaping up so far.Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One TeamTBATBAScuderia Ferrari Mission WinnowCharles Leclerc (end of 2024)TBAAston Martin Red Bull RacingMax Verstappen (end of 2023)TBA”4McLaren F1 TeamTBATBARenault F1 TeamEsteban Ocon (end of 2021)TBAScuderia AlphaTauriTBATBASportPesa Racing Point F1 TeamSergio Perez (end of 2022)TBAAlfa Romeo Racing OrlenTBATBAHaas F1 TeamTBATBAROKiT Williams RacingGeorge Russell (end of 2021)TBA
