Augusto Fernandez has retained his Misano Moto2 win after escaping a penalty for his clash with Fabio Di Giannantonio on the final lap.The pair traded overtakes during the last lap of the San Marino race, with Fernandez running off track at Turn 11, before the duo banged fairings as the Flexbox HP40 Pons rider produced a block pass on Di Giannantonio to claim victory.The incident was immediately placed under investigation by the MotoGP Stewards and following a hearing involving both riders at Misano neither has been penalised meaning the race results stand as provisionally confirmed, with Fernandez winning ahead of Di Giannantonio and Moto2 championship leader Alex Marquez in third place.Fernandez has now claimed consecutive Moto2 wins to cut the gap in the standings to 26 points on Marquez with six rounds to go in 2019.With the exception of Brad Binder’s victory for KTM in Austria, Fernandez and Marquez have shared the wins between themselves since the French round back in May.Fernandez missed both the Argentinean and Americas rounds due to injury, with Marquez picking up 27 points (third in Argentina and fifth in the United States) across those two races in his fellow countryman’s absence.
