Mercedes has confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will miss his media events on Thursday in France while he attends a memorial for Karl Lagerfeld in Paris.Iconic fashion designer Lagerfeld died in February at the age of 85, with a memorial planned for Thursday at the Grand Palais called “Karl For Ever”.Hamilton has a growing interest in fashion design, having launched a line with Tommy Hilfiger last year, and regularly attends shows all over the world. The five-time Formula 1 world champion had been due to talk to the media on Thursday at Paul Ricard, but Mercedes confirmed that team principal Toto Wolff had excused Hamilton so he could attend the memorial.“Lewis unfortunately will not be arriving at the circuit today until early evening, owing to his attendance at the Karl Lagerfield memorial in Paris later today,” a Mercedes spokesman said.“Lewis requested permission to attend the event and this was granted by Toto. As a consequence, we will be unable to hold his open media call today.”
