Injured world champion Marc Marquez will need another ‘two or three months’ recovery before he can return to MotoGP, Repsol Honda has announced.Check out the MotoGP YouTube channel – CLICK HEREThe Spaniard fractured his arm at the season-opening Jerez race, was forced to abandon a return to action the following weekend, then needed a second round of surgery when the titanium plate fixing the fracture broke ahead of round three at Brno.Having now also missed both Austrian events, Misano in September had been mooted as his likely return date.However, after ‘consulting the opinions of a number of specialists… all parties have decided to modify the planned recovery process’. Those words suggest the injury is worse than first thought.The estimated timeline now given is that it will take ‘between two to three months before Marc can return to the RC213V’.HRC confirmed to that the two-three months listed is from today (updated). Therefore, Marquez would not be back in MotoGP until sometime between October 22 and November 22, which is the season finale (calendar below).This year will thus be only the second time that Marquez has not won the MotoGP title since joining the premier-class in 2013.The full Repsol Honda statement can be seen below:Marc Marquez will continue recovering in the coming weeks. The MotoGP World Champion together with HRC, have consulted with and compared the opinions of a number of specialists in regard to the injury to the humerus of the right arm that Marc suffered on July 19 at the Spanish Grand Prix. As a result, all parties have decided to modify the planned recovery process. The objective of both Marquez and the Repsol Honda Team is to return to the World Championship when Marc’s arm has fully recovered from the serious injury that occurred in Jerez. It is estimated it will take between two to three months before Marc can return to the RC213V. HRC has not set a Grand Prix for the return of the reigning World Champion and will continue to report on the evolution of his recovery.Team Manager Alberto Puig: “There has been a lot of talk about Marc’s recovery and the various deadlines, but from the first day after the second operation we have said that the only objective that exists is for him to be one hundred percent. We do not want to rush.
