Despite having victory snatched from under his nose at the final corner of the last two races, Marc Marquez holds an increased 78-point lead over Andrea Dovizioso heading into the Ducati rider’s home event at Misano this weekend.Dovizioso passed the Repsol Honda rider for victory at the final corner in Austria, but didn’t get beyond turn one at Silverstone after being caught up in Fabio Quartararo’s accident. As such, even though Marquez lost out at the line to Suzuki’s Alex Rins, he still added 20-points to his championship advantage and remains firmly on course for a sixth premier-class crown.”We arrive at Misano in a good way after some strong races for us and after a productive test,” Marquez said. “During the test we were able to try many things and get a good understanding of how the Honda is working around Misano this season.”Marquez was only tenth fastest as he focussed on race pace and new parts at the Misano test, which finished with Yamaha and Ducati riders at the sharp end of the timesheets.”I am confident for the weekend but we will face strong opposition as always, especially after the test. Our approach doesn’t change, we have our own plan and we will work towards it and see what happens on Sunday,” he said.Marquez has been first or second in every race he has finished so far this season, including six victories.
