The MotoGP season is over another year but never fear because we have a plethora of juicy facts and stats compiled by motogp.com to make you go hmmmm…Check out the MotoGP YouTube channel – CLICK HERESo while the 2020 MotoGP season may be done and dusted, it’s time to see who literally kicked up the most dust over the year with the most accidents across the three grand prix classes.A fall or was classified by Dorna as ‘the bike physically touching the ground and remaining on the ground’, with the data collected from only race weekends (so not any test sessions)…Johann Zarco has topped the table for the second straight season, falling 17 times over the course of the shortened 2020 world championship, consisting of 14 events. Fortunately, his only significant injury was a fractured wrist bone from the huge accident with Franco Morbidelli in Austria.Zarco’s tally compares to his benchmark of 19 accidents from 16 rounds in 2019, when he competed with KTM and LCR Honda but also missed three events altogether.Zarco’s 2020 fall total was three higher than Repsol Honda rookie Alex Marquez, who took 14 tumbles on the tricky RC213V while in third place was Aleix Espargaro, who hit the deck on 12 occasions while trying to wrestle the best from the Aprilia RS-GP.At the other end of the scale, Ducati’s Danilo Petrucci made the fewest mistakes (and avoided the bad luck of being taken down by others) by falling just twice all year.In fact, the factory Ducati team boasted the safest pair of hands with Andrea Dovizioso tipping off just four times – including once when he was innocently wiped out, ironically enough, after a tangle involving Zarco and Petrucci.
