MotoGP’nin rekortmeni Can Öncü, Moto3’teki zorlu sezonuna başlıyor

Son senelerde Red Bull Rookies Cup ve Asya Yetenek Kupası’nda çok sayıda zafer elde eden Can, 2018 Red Bull Rookies Cup şampiyonluğu sayesinde yaşı tutmamasına rağmen Moto3’te sezonun son yarışı Valencia’ya katılma hakkı kazanmıştı. Valencia’daki zorlu ve yağmurlu şartlarda Can, KTM Ajo takımıyla kimsenin hayal etmediği şekilde çok güçlü performans gösterdi ve serideki ilk yarışını kazanarak bütün dünyanın dikkatini üzerine çekti. Can Öncü, henüz 15 yaşında dünya şampiyonasında tarihin en genç yarış kazanan ismi olarak rekorla Moto3 kariyerine başlamış oldu. Ancak Can, geçen seneki zorlu şartlarda kazansa da bu seneye favori olarak başlamıyor. Moto3’te çok sayıda rekabetçi sürücü bulunuyor ve Ajo takımı son senelerde Moto3’te çok güçlü performans gösteremiyor. Can da diğer sürücülere göre oldukça küçük ve deneyimsiz. Yine de bu seride ilk sezonunu geçirecek Can için ilk hedef öncelikle burada padoğu, motosikletini, takımların çalışma şeklini iyi tanımak ve gelecek senelerdeki hedefleri için adım adım ilerlemeyi sürdürmek olacak. Moto3’te minimum yarışma yaşı normalde 16 ancak Can, Red Bull Rookies Cup şampiyonluğu sayesinde bir istisna oldu. Bu açıdan kendisinin başarılı olması için önünde daha uzun seneler olacak. Kış testlerinin de Can için pek iyi geçtiği söylenemez. Can, hem Valencia’da hem de Katar’da 23. olabildi. İlk yarışı öncesinde TMF’ye konuşan Can “Sezonun ilk yarışı için çok heyecanlıyım. Kış aylarında yaptığımız bütün testlerden sonra artık harekete geçmeye hazırız. İlk sezonumun olduğunun bilincindeyim. Bir çaylak sürücü olarak hâlâ öğreneceğim çok şey var. Özellikle açılış yarışlarında çok çalışmak zorunda kalacağız. Ancak KTM Ajo takımı ile her zaman daha iyi hissediyorum. Sezonun nasıl geçeceğini hep birlikte göreceğiz. İyi sonuçlar almak için elimden gelenin en iyisini yapacağım” dedi. Can, ilk defa bu kadar uzun bir sezonda mücadele edecek. Normal koşullarda geçecek yarışlarda henüz kendisini neler bekliyor bilmiyoruz ancak yağmurlu yarışlarda diğer sürücüleri neler beklediğini hepimiz iyi biliyoruz. En azından o şartlarda gerçekleşecek yarışlarda bazı mucizelere yine şahit olabiliriz. MotoGP’nin iki alt sınıfı olan Moto3’te 19 yarış yer alıyor. Motorsport Türkiye olarak Can Öncü’ye Moto3 mücadelesinde başarılar diliyor, kardeşi Deniz’in de bir an önce kendisine eşlik etmesini umut ediyoruz. Deniz demişken, kendisinin sezona FIA CEV Moto3’te başlayacağını hatırlatalım.
