Alfa Romeo Racing duo Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi are both under investigation by the FIA Stewards over an alleged issue over the team’s clutch torque application at the start of the German Grand Prix. Both drivers have allegedly broken Article 27.1 of the F1 Sporting Regulations and Article 9.3 of the F1 Technical Regulations at the start of the race in Hockenheim, with Raikkonen taking seventh place directly ahead of teammate Giovinazzi in eighth place in the race. The sporting regulation infringement relates to “the driver must drive the car alone and unaided”, while the technical rule break refers to the use of traction control and specifically preventing wheelspin under acceleration.Raikkonen notably made an extremely strong getaway at the start of the German Grand Prix launching up to third place into the first corner. An Alfa Romeo Racing team representative will meet the Stewards at 1845 local time.If found guilty of breaking F1 rules, both Alfa Romeo drivers could face a post-race time penalty.
