Both Ferrari drivers and Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo have taken their engine upgrades ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix but Nico Hulkenberg has not taken up the Renault update, according to the FIA notices.

With new power unit elements confirmed by the FIA once each F1 driver takes to the track in FP1, Ferrari pair Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc have both taken on the upgraded internal combustion engine (ICE) which has been pushed forward from its original schedule of the Canadian Grand Prix.

Ricciardo has also taken on a new ICE at Renault, which he confirmed was for improved reliability, but teammate Hulkenberg has not taken the new unit yet. The Australian driver has also taken a new turbocharger and motor generator unit-heat (MGU-H).

McLaren duo Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris have both taken on a new control electronics each.

None of the drivers have exceeded their permitted number of power unit elements with the new parts and therefore are not at risk of grid penalties.
