Russian Retail Chain Magnit to Operate First Russian E-Truck
In case of successful testing Magnit plans to order 200 units of trucks. The electric truck will reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere by almost 87 tons per year. In addition, it is completely silent, which is especially important, since it will be used in urban conditions.
The maximum load capacity of an electric truck is 9 tons, which is comparable to diesel trucks of the same class. The maximum speed is 110 km/h and the range reaches 200 kilometers. This should be enough for trips to a large number of retail stores, 40% of which are located within a radius of 80 kilometers from distribution centers. In addition, the use of alternative energy and low wear of the main components of the car reduce the total cost of ownership of an electric truck by 20-25% over 10 years of use in comparison with traditional analogues.
Transport fully meets the requirements of the Russian climate. In addition, it is silent, which is extremely important in a megalopolis. Along with the truck comes a charging station that operates from an industrial network voltage of 380 volts. You can charge the truck in two modes: fast charging — 20 minutes — and night charging — 8 hours. Also, at the retailer’s request, the package includes an insulated van, a refrigeration unit and a hydraulic vehicle with a load capacity of 1500 kilograms.
