Vettel summoned for Monza qualifying track limits breach

Sebastian Vettel has been summoned to see the Formula 1 race stewards over an alleged breach of track limits during qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix on Saturday.Vettel qualified fourth for Ferrari in a messy qualifying session that ended with seven driver missing the chequered flag on their final runs, with a number of drivers now under investigation for various incidents.The FIA stewards confirmed in a post-session bulletin that Vettel had been summoned for an “alleged breach of Article 27.3 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations at 15:43” when he “left the track and gained a lasting advantage.”While Vettel was spotted in Q3 to have put all four wheels across the white line at Parabolica, this breach would be in relation to a Q2 lap. Q3 did not start until 15:54 at Monza.Vettel qualified 0.150s shy of Leclerc in qualifying on Saturday after failing to complete a second Q3 run as a result of the field bunching at the end of the session.Nico Hulkenberg, Carlos Sainz and Lance Stroll met the stewards at 18:50, with Vettel’s hearing then starting at 19:20.
