Jack Miller endured a difficult first Qatar MotoGP Grand Prix with a ninth place finish after qualifying fifth. The Australian was running second after a good start, but slowly dropped down the pack as he struggled with tyre degradation. Miller suffered rear grip issues after trying to increase his pace once race winner Maverick Vinales went ahead of him. It was certainly a suprise to see, as Miller was consistently one of the fastest riders throughout the weekend both over one lap and on race runs. Miller’s team-mate Francesco Bagnaia and Pramac Ducati rider Johann Zarco didn’t suffer the same issues as they both finished on the podium. But with a second Grand Prix this weekend around the Losail International Circuit, Miller is hoping the data gathered can find him a better ‘solution’ for the race. Related ArticlesaccImages.createImage(); Jack Miller’s mission: We need 7 seconds in 7 daysaccImages.createImage(); Maverick Vinales explains strategy that took him to Qatar victory”The Qatar GP didn’t go exactly as I expected. After being at the top at the end of free practices and after a good qualifying, I was hoping for a better result in the race,” said Miller.  “Unfortunately, after a good start, I couldn’t ride as I wanted in the second part of the competition. “The positive thing is that now we have real feedback on what can happen in the race, so we will work on the data from last Sunday to find a solution that will allow me to be more competitive in the Doha GP. I am sure that we can fight for a good result.”Related ArticlesaccImages.createImage(); Maverick Vinales fights through to the front for Qatar victoryaccImages.createImage(); 2021 Qatar MotoGP, Losail Circuit – Race Day LIVE!
