Miller and Bagnaia form a factory Ducati 1-2 during second practice for the season-opening Qatar MotoGP at Losail.
The faster night-time conditions meant FP2 could well decide the top ten for direct access to Qualifying 2 and all riders put new soft tyres for a time attack in the closing stages.
The top eight riders – Miller to Aprilia’s Espargaro – were covered by just 0.34s.
After four riders (Zarco, Miller, P. Espargaro and Bastianini) fell in FP1, Espargaro fell again at the end of FP2.
The session was briefly red-flagged after 8mins to clear debris on the start-finish straight, which seemed to have come from some kind of trackside structure.
Bradl is again replacing the injured Marc Marquez, who is missing both Qatar rounds.
Vinales and Marquez (Alex) are without their usual crew chiefs for most of this weekend, after both registered an unclear PCR test upon arrival in Qatar.
Esteban Garcia (Vinales) and Christophe ‘Beefy’ Bourguignon (Marquez) will remain isolated in their hotels until passing a PCR test on Saturday.
