Alex Albon insists he feels no additional pressure to perform at Red Bull following Pierre Gasly’s maiden Formula 1 victory at the Italian Grand Prix.Check out the F1 YouTube channel – CLICK HEREGasly scored a shock first career win in F1 for Red Bull’s sister squad AlphaTauri at Monza last weekend having capitalized on a red flag stoppage and penalty for Lewis Hamilton.The victory has seen Gasly continued to be linked with a potential return to Red Bull amid his outstanding start to the 2020 F1 season, coupled with a difficult run for Albon at the senior squad.Asked whether Gasly’s victory has resulted in any additional pressure to perform ahead of this weekend’s Tuscan Grand Prix, Albon replied: “No, not at all. The process stays the same.“I think it’s been like that since the first racing in Formula 1. So, on my side, I’m looking at my own recent races and things have been going on the up.“I’m happy with the way it’s going. We’ve got another weekend to get it together and focus on the weekend. I do think especially Monza didn’t really reflect what was going on.“But times will come and I’m sure when I have the opportunities, I’ll be showing what I can do.”The Anglo-Thai racer does not feel the pressure to do well changes regardless of whether a driver is fighting towards the front of the grid or not.“Joining a top team of course, you yourself you want to do well, because it is an opportunity to win races or get podiums,” he explained.“But in terms of added pressure, the pressure really comes from within. It’s yourself wanting to do well rather than anything else.“That doesn’t really change when you change teams. It’s not really any different to be honest.””4
