Brad Binder came from 13th on the grid to take a season best MotoGP result of fourth in Sachsenring. Binder made an electric start and was already inside the top ten come lap two. That good start then turned into seventh position, before multiple efforts at getting past Fabio Quartararo occurred. Binder tried to make the move happen at turn one on two occasions, but was unable to hold a tight line which allowed the Frenchman back through. This also happened in the middle part of the race against Aleix Espargaro. But after a difficult ten laps where ‘the front tyre pressure really came up’, Binder finally made the moves stick on Espargaro and Jack Miller. Related ArticlesaccImages.createImage(); Marc Marquez wins the German MotoGP, makes it 11 in a row at SachsenringaccImages.createImage(); Marc Marquez wins the German MotoGP, makes it 11 in a row at SachsenringThe KTM man was able to use his better tyre grip late on to make those overtakes, but not before Quartararo pulled out a gap on said group involving Binder. It was laps 8-18 specifically where Binder had the front tyre issues: “The most difficult point in the race was from about lap 8-18. Those ten laps were the most difficult because I had quite a big group in front of me – well, not a big group but 3-4 riders – and the front tyre pressure really came up and when that happens it’s really hard to stop and to make the bike stick well on the front. Related ArticlesaccImages.createImage(); MotoGP Gossip: Ducati would have treated Morbidelli better says Dall’IgnaaccImages.createImage(); 2022 MotoGP World Championship – Rider line-up so far…”It’s just that the grip is not the same. I was struggling to make passes because I could not brake late. I managed to get past the guys when everybody’s tyres started to drop off and I felt like I had been able to save my rear tyre quite well. “I managed to get some moves done but I was frustrated by the middle of my race because I wasn’t able to get past and keep a strong rhythm to carry-through my race a bit better, but anyway from where we started to 4th was a great comeback. I’m super happy with the progress we have made.”Binder’s fourth place finish falls in line with improvements from team-mate Miguel Oliveira who’s taken three podiums on the bounce since Mugello, as KTM have turned their year around in impressive fashion. “4Asked if he was frustrated that it took the first few races to understand the problems, Binder said: “Not at all. For me I think sometimes it takes the difficult days to be….well, sometimes you have to be pulled back to be thrown forwards. “Those tough times at the beginning of the year are what we needed to find where we are at the moment.”I know the guys work so incredibly hard because we always have updates and small things to try. “5“They don’t like struggling either and we can see the bike performing much better and we are much stronger each weekend and at very different circuits, so I’m really happy with the progress we have made.”googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(“div-gpt-1623923777824-0
