Pierre Gasly has been summoned to the FIA Stewards after failing to stop at the weighbridge at the end of FP2 at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

The Red Bull driver was ordered to stop at the FIA weighbridge at the end of FP2 by the pit lane traffic light system which displays a red light and Gasly’s race number to indicate he must be weighed with his car.

According to an FIA statement, Gasly did not stop for weighing and his Red Bull team “did not make any attempt to immediately bring back the car, but carried out a pit-stop practice instead”.

The incident has been referred to the FIA stewards with Gasly and Red Bull set for a hearing at 1925 local time for allegedly breaching Article 29.1a of the FIA Formula 1 sporting regulations.

F1 drivers can be selected at random during both practice and qualifying to be weighed by the FIA to ensure the cars are running at a legal weight.
