Marc Marquez says despite the frustration at losing two races in final-corner fights he knows he doesn’t need to take drastic action given his healthy MotoGP world championship lead.The Repsol Honda rider extended his lead to 78 points with second place at Silverstone last time out, with nearest rival Andrea Dovizioso taken out at the first corner, and has duly made it clear his plan for the remainder of the season is to pick up points when possible in order to seal the 2020 world title with just seven rounds to go.Marquez is eager to maintain his consistency this weekend at Misano and will also reassess new parts he trialled during the recent two-day MotoGP test at the Rimini circuit.“To be consistent here during the whole race distance is difficult but it is a racetrack that I like,” Marquez said. “We will start in a good way as we had some new things that we tried in the test that we will recheck again.“Now in our box we do not need to be crazy just do the best with what we have, try to find 100% every weekend and take points which is most important.”Marquez expects both major title rival Dovizioso plus the Yamaha riders to be his biggest threats at Misano given the circuit’s characteristics which partly play to the strengthens of Yamaha and Ducati in opposing ways – a feeling he says was backed up by the results at the recent MotoGP test despite seeing times held back by poor grip conditions.Fabio Quartararo topped the final day of the Misano test while the top seven spots were held by either a Yamaha or Ducati rider. Marquez ended day two of the Misano test 10th overall.“At the Misano test it was quite interesting, we will check this weekend because everybody’s race pace was not so fast, compared to last year, but we were competitive,” he said. “The Yamaha riders were very, very fast and Dovizioso was not 100% fit but he will be fast here as the winner of last year.“Apart from that we have a good advantage in the championship. So maybe we need to be calm and try to finish races and see what happens in the future.“Of course the last two races have not been the best at the last corner for us but anyway I am happy because especially at Silverstone it was one of the circuits that last year we struggled a lot at and this year we were there.”
