F1 Live F1 Replay F1 Standings

Mercedes has dropped a hint it could be set to run a special edition livery for Formula 1 pre-season testing after dropping a teaser online on Tuesday evening.

Traditionally both testing and racing in silver and the blue of its title sponsor, Petronas, Mercedes could become the latest team to run a one-off livery for its car launch, with the W10 set to be unveiled on February 13.

In a tweet posted to its account on Tuesday, Mercedes posted a picture of a front wing render with a swirling black and blue design.

The picture was accompanied with the message: “Silver is so last season…”

Teams have occasionally launched or tested their cars in special edition liveries, with Red Bull’s 2018 car being unveiled in a one-off black and blue design before reverting to its usual colours for the start of testing. Red Bull also ran a ‘camo bull’ livery through 2015 pre-season.

Mercedes will complete its first on-track running with the W10 car at Silverstone on February 13 as part of its unveiling before the start of testing on February 18.
