Sebastian Vettel was left feeling “very bitter” after a turbo-related issue prevented him from setting a time in qualifying for the German Grand Prix on Saturday, leaving him last on the grid at Hockenheim.Vettel entered qualifying targeting his second straight pole at his home grand prix following an impressive practice showing, only to report a loss of power during his outlap in Q1.Vettel was told to pit so Ferrari could investigate the issue, which ultimately prevented him from taking part in the remainder of the session, leaving him last on the grid. The team later confirmed it was a problem with the airflow to the turbo.”I don’t know what happened. Something broke in the turbo and it was game over from there,” Vettel said in the TV pen after the session.”So obviously very bitter. I think the car was great. Lost out on a big chance, but hopefully we’ll have a big one coming again tomorrow.”For sure I’m looking forward to the race, but obviously it would’ve been nicer to start at the very front and not the very back.”Ferrari’s woes did not end there as Vettel’s teammate Charles Leclerc was also sidelined by an issue later in qualifying, ruling him out of the fight for pole and leaving him 10th on the grid.Lewis Hamilton was able to take advantage of Ferrari’s issues to take his fifth pole position of the season for Mercedes, beating Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
