Ahead of the British MotoGP, Yamaha confirmed that Morbidelli is to leave and be replaced by Alex Rins next season.KTM conundrumKTM extended Augusto Fernandez’s deal meaning all four of their current riders are tied down for 2024. But the factory needs to find a place for Moto2 star Pedro Acosta and has been exploring the possibility of adding more RC16s to the grid. Should that option fail, one of the current GASGAS riders might need to switch to a test and wild-card role.Meanwhile, Brad Binder has extended his KTM contract until the end of 2026, becoming the first rider officially signed beyond 2024.Honda woesMarc Marquez has stunningly confirmed that he will quit Honda at the end of 2023.Joan Mir will stay in the factory team. Takaaki Nakagami’s LCR place is also still to be confirmed but Rins’ exit means he looks secure.
