Seeing the same riders on the podium each weekend isn’t a complaint that can be levelled at the 2020 MotoGP season so far.Check out the MotoGP YouTube channel – CLICK HEREOf the five races to date, no rider has stood on the rostrum more than twice. As a result, Fabio Quartararo leads the standings with 70 points, but that’s a full 25 points less than Marc Marquez’s had gathered at the same stage last season. There have also been four different winners from the five rounds, three of whom had never won a MotoGP race before. That includes rookie Brad Binder, who made history for KTM at Brno and currently holds fourth in the championship (-21 points) after an eighth place in Austria on Sunday.”For me, it just has to be race-by-race and see what comes,” Binder said of the unpredictable championship situation.”It is crazy this year and there are different podiums every week. Some riders are up, some are down, different problems. It’s been chaos but it keeps it interesting so I’m looking forward to the rest of the year. I hope it stays this way!”Binder’s hopes of joining fellow KTM riders Pol Espargaro and (eventual winner) Miguel Oliveira in battling at the front on Sunday were blighted by having no new hard front tyre for the restart.Given the choice of a used hard front or new medium, Binder went with the medium.”On the restart I was hoping for a second chance but I didn’t make the best decision with my front tyre and I kept locking the front in all the braking zones so it made it super-difficult to stop the bike,” he said. “That is pretty much my second race summed up. After a trip off-track I ended up coming back and finishing 8th.”On the positive side I am really happy with how the bike is working and how the team is working. We made the bike so much better for this race rather than last week. All-in-all it was not our day today but we’ll try again next week.”
