Following Sunday’s Catalunya MotoGP, an official test was held back at the Barcelona circuit on Monday.

Testing was briefly interrupted after a big accident for Lorenzo at 11:20, whose bike ended up on a tyre barrier at Turn 8.

Other fallers included team-mate and Sunday’s race winner Marquez, plus Bagnaia, KTM’s Espargaro and Abraham.

Aleix Espargaro did not ride after yesterday’s leg injuries due to a collision with test rider Smith.

The Spaniard was at the circuit today on crutches after being diagnosed with ‘a micro-fracture to the femur and an injury to the left tibia’, with Smith quick to check on his condition.

Nakagami, who races a 2018-spec RCV, tried a 2019 Honda.

Rossi’s schedule included a handlebar-mounted rear brake lever on one of his factory Yamahas.

Pedrosa was completing his first official laps for KTM, since retiring at the end of last season.

As well as the race weekend tyre allocation, Michelin had some additional tyres available, including a prototype 2020 rear casing aimed at increasing performance.

Rins was fastest for most of the day before Quartararo, Bagnaia and Marquez moved ahead of the Suzuki rider in the afternoon.

The closing minutes then saw Marquez, who had finished testing, knocked from the top by Vinales and Morbidelli.

Testing took place from 10am to 6pm.
