Mercedes have tied down Lewis Hamilton and George Russell until the end of 2025.Confirmation of their extended time with the team ended a long saga over Hamilton’s future that saw him linked with a move to Ferrari.Ferrari have Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz contracted for 2024. But an extension for Leclerc is a priority amid links to Mercedes, Red Bull and Aston Martin at various points this year.The chasing pack Esteban Ocon committed his future to Alpine back in 2021 on a deal that takes him to the end of 2024. New teammate Pierre Gasly signed an initial two-year contract when he moved from AlphaTauri at the end of last season. McLaren tied Lando Norris down to a new long-term contract running until the end of 2025 last year to ward off rival teams. Following an impressive start to his rookie F1 season, Oscar Piastri has signed a multi-year extension through to the end of 2026. Valtteri Bottas negotiated the longer contract he desired when he moved to Alfa Romeo, securing a deal that will keep him at the team until the end of 2025. Lance Stroll’s contract is unknown, but given his father Lawrence owns the team he drives for, it’s likely he’ll continue for as long as he, and his dad, wants.

Kevin Magnussen agreed a contract running until the end of 2023 when he made a surprise F1 comeback with Haas last year. If he continues his impressive performances this season he will surely be in line for a renewed deal. The Dane’s teammate is F1 veteran Nico Hulkenberg, who is signed up for two years. It is already confirmed that Alex Albon will remain at Williams beyond the 2023 season after the British-born Thai driver agreed a multi-year contract extension last summer.Logan Sargeant’s contract renewal, confirmed on December 1, completes the 2024 F1 grid.
