French Grand Prix stewards have opted to take no further action over the incident involving Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen during second practice.Hamilton endured a sideways moment at Turn 4 and hit a bollard as he spun off the circuit, before later rejoining the track ahead of Verstappen, who was on a flying lap.The Red Bull driver was caught off guard by Hamilton and ran wide at Turn 5, with Hamilton immediately waving an apologetic hand to Verstappen. Both drivers were summoned to see the stewards following the conclusion of the session, but after reviewing video evidence, the stewards and both drivers agreed that the situation “was not particularly dangerous” and “did not give Verstappen a lasting disadvantage” in FP2.An FIA statement continued: “Both drivers agreed that the limited rear visibility and the angle of Car 44 made it difficult for Hamilton to see the approaching car and agreed that Hamilton re-joined slowly.“The Stewards could observe from the on-board video that Hamilton looked in his mirrors at least twice before attempting to re-join the circuit.”
