Firstly, I want to be grateful to get to this point. “But I still feel fresh, and I still feel as though I have got plenty of fuel [left] in the tank. Hamilton was delighted with his and Mercedes’ best result of what has been a difficult campaign so far. Although Hamilton’s Mercedes lacked the pace to challenge Verstappen for the win, he jumped ahead of Sergio Perez’s Red Bull with a great start and was able to hold off the Mexican in the early stages, before easing clear. And the Briton, who is enduring the longest win drought of his entire F1 career, remains confident that Mercedes are getting closer to a first victory of the season. “4“This is my 300th GP and I woke up incredibly grateful for all the people who have been with me,” Hamilton added. “For Ron Dennis and Mercedes giving me the chance when I was young.
