After heavy rain at Buriram forced a delay to track action on Saturday at the Thailand MotoGP, a revised scheduled has been confirmed subject to weather conditions. With the Thai round held towards the end of the rainy season in the region, heavy rain duly greeted the MotoGP paddock this morning ahead of the scheduled start of the Moto3 FP3 session at the Chang International Circuit.A 70-minute delay has duly tightened up the schedule with both FP3 session in Moto3 and Moto2 shortened to 30 minutes. After Moto3 FP3 which got underway at 10:20, a further 10-minute delay was caused by unsafe track conditions with Turn 1 attended to by track marshals due to the standing water which saw the MotoGP FP3 session trimmed to 35 minutes before a 30-minute Moto2 FP3 session at 11:55 (all local time). The schedule then returns to its original plan with Moto3 Q1 of qualifying starting at 12:35. All schedule alterations are subject to weather conditions with rain forecast to hit later today at the Chang International Circuit. With wet track conditions expected to deny any riders the opportunity to improve on their Friday practice times, the order for Q1 and Q2 in all classes is likely to remain unchanged. That would see Fabio Quartararo, Maverick Vinales, Franco Morbidelli, Jack Miller, Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez, Aleix Espargaro, Andrea Dovizioso, Joan Mir and Alex Rins automatically into Q2 in MotoGP qualifying. The high-profile names to miss out on the automatic Q2 place are set to be Danilo Petrucci, Cal Crutchlow and Jorge Lorenzo. The Thailand MotoGP hosts its second-ever Grand Prix this weekend as round 15 of 19 in the 2019 MotoGP world championship.
