The 21-year-old Briton has been rewarded for his outstanding start to the 2021 season, with Norris currently sitting fourth in the drivers’ championship.Norris, who made his F1 debut with McLaren in 2019, claimed his second career podium at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola, finishing third behind Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.On the eve of this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix, it was announced that Norris has committed his future to McLaren as part of a new deal the Woking squad says “cements the McLaren driver line-up for the coming years” with Daniel Ricciardo also signed to a long-term contract.SEE ALSO: ‘Winning races is my dream’ – How Norris plans to get McLaren back to F1 summit“Having been with the team for almost five years, I feel very much part of the family here and I couldn’t imagine starting the next phase of my career anywhere else,” Norris said. “McLaren has been a huge support since my days in junior series and I’ve really enjoyed learning and developing as a driver since.“My commitment to McLaren is clear: my goal is to win races and become Formula 1 World Champion and I want to do that with this team.
