Marc Marquez has dismissed changing his plan of attack for the Thailand MotoGP despite having the world title within his grasp this weekend. The Repsol Honda rider has the first opportunity to clinch the 2019 riders’ crown at the Thai round, needing to outscore Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso by two points, following his dominant victory at Aragon last time out.Despite the title permutations Marquez has dismissed the idea of tailoring his approach to focus on sealing the world championship at the Thai round.“We had a great weekend in Aragon and it was a delight to win in front of the home crowd. I want to carry this confidence and energy to Thailand so we can put in a strong weekend,” Marquez said.“Our approach doesn’t change even with the circumstances, we will do our work to be as strong as possible come Sunday.“Last year we had a very exciting race here in Thailand so hopefully we can put on another good show for the fans.”Marquez claimed victory at the first ever Thailand MotoGP 12 months ago, beating Dovizioso in a final-corner fight to win by 0.115s, and a repeat of that result would see the Spanish rider duly retain his world title. In a dominant 2019 for the 26-year-old, he has only missed out on the podium at one round this season when he ed out of the lead at the Americas MotoGP, while Marquez has finished either first or second at every other round – but curiously his longest consecutive winning run has only lasted two races (on three separate occasions this season).
