Full qualifying results for the Austrian MotoGPMarc Marquez has broken the all-time MotoGP pole position record with his 59th pole, surpassing Mick Doohan’s record which he equalled last time out at Brno, with a stunning display for Repsol Honda.The reigning MotoGP world champion secured pole position by a huge 0.434s over nearest rival Fabio Quartararo on the Petronas Yamaha to see Marquez secure a new lap record at the Red Bull Ring with a 1m 23.027s.Quartararo leapt on to the front row with his final lap in qualifying to push Andrea Dovizioso into third place on the factory Ducati, while the MotoGP rookie forced Maverick Vinales on to the front of the second row for Monster Yamaha.Francesco Bagnaia stunned in Q2 to take fifth place for Pramac Ducati after progressing through the first qualifying session along with Cal Crutchlow.Crutchlow’s LCR Honda team-mate Takaaki Nakagami completes the second row in sixth place ahead of the lone Suzuki of Alex Rins.With speculation mounting on his place at Pramac Ducati following Jorge Lorenzo rumours, Jack Miller could only manage eighth place with Crutchlow rounding out the third row in ninth place.Valentino Rossi surged to fourth place early on in Q2 before struggling to continue his momentum as he tumbled down the order to 10th place on the factory Yamaha.With Pol Espargaro leading the Red Bull KTM charge in 11th, Danilo Petrucci had a nightmare qualifying when he ed out late on to condemn himself to 12th on the grid for the Austrian MotoGP.Miguel Oliveira was the unlucky 13th-placed rider to just miss out on making it through to Q2 for Tech3 KTM, having led the Q1 times until final lap efforts from Crutchlow and Bagnaia which bumped out the Portuguese rider.Franco Morbidelli was another strong Q1 contender but could only reach 14th overall for Petronas Yamaha ahead of Avintia Ducati’s Tito Rabat and Red Bull KTM’s Johann Zarco who continues to struggle at the Austrian brand’s home race.Karel Abraham shook off an FP4 to take 17th in qualifying for Avintia Ducati ahead of both Aprilia pair Andrea Iannone and Aleix Espargaro with Hafizh Syahrin (Tech3 KTM) pushing ahead of Stefan Bradl after the German rider suffered a technical issue midway through Q1 on the Repsol Honda.Bradl is filling in for the injured Jorge Lorenzo at the factory Honda squad, while Joan Mir is absent for Suzuki after suffering a heavy fall during the Brno test on Monday.
