McLaren says there are no concerns about Lando Norris’ fitness for this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix after the British driver picked up an inflamed tendon while running on holiday during the summer break.Concerns were raised about Norris’ fitness in Belgium when he was spotted wearing a protective boot on his left leg during a sim racing live stream on Sunday night, during which he said it “frickin’ hurt” after walking for much of the day at the Silverstone MotoGP race. However, McLaren does not foresee any issues with Norris heading into the race weekend, with on-track running set to begin on Friday.”The boot is precautionary for mild inflammation of a tendon in his left foot after running, to allow it to rest,” a McLaren spokeswoman said.”No issues for Spa.”Should Norris or teammate Carlos Sainz be forced out of action at all this season, their place would be taken by Sergey Sirotkin, who McLaren confirmed in June would act as its reserve driver for 2019 in a shared deal with engine partner Renault.Norris will look to continue his impressive start to life in F1 at Spa this weekend after helping lift McLaren to fourth place in the constructors’ championship through the first half of the season, recording a best finish of P6 on two occasions.
