MERCEDES-BENZ CONECTO IN ANKARA!
Mercedes-Benz Türk Bus Marking and Sales Director Alper Kurt has attended the event where Mercedes-Benz Türk Urban and Public Sales Group Manager Yusuf Adıgüzel has made a presentation for the model and answered the questions of the guests.
Thanks to its new Euro 6 engine, recuperation module and advanced technologies, the Conecto redefines the standards of fuel economy in its class. The model is offered in solo and articulated body types as well as Natural gas and Diesel engine options:
– Conecto Solo diesel: new OM 936 LA Euro 6 engine that produces 220 kW (295 HP),
– Conecto Articulated diesel: new OM 470 LA Euro 6 engine that produces 265 kW (355 HP),
– Conecto Solo CNG: new Mercedes-Benz M 936 G engine that produces 222 kW (298 HP),
– Conecto Articulated CNG: new Mercedes-Benz M 936 G engine that produces 222 kW (298 HP).
Developed by Mercedes-Benz engineers, the new generation engine ensures low emissions while offering a whole lot more fuel economy. The recuperation module found solely on the Conecto models, ensure that the bus can recycle the energy it has stored as additional fuel economy. Conecto also significantly reduces AdBlue and engine oil consumption.
Conecto’s colour trip computer offers instant access to the fuel consumption and trip details, and it also calculates fuel consumption.
Thanks to its new B2E (Bus Electric Electronic) technology, the Conecto has a completely new technical infrastructure. The model is now much more economy-driven with its strong Euro 6 engine. In addition, it can be commanded with easy to use control units. The number of cables on the model have also been reduced the minimize the risk of breakdown. Reduction of its weight also contributes to its fuel economy. In case of an accident, the vehicle indicates the problem on the colour display with visual icons to ensure rapid solution.
New Generation Air Conditioning Concept
Conecto Solo offers the maximum level of comfort for both its driver and passengers. Its extended interior volume and 3.120 mm height offers a spacious environment for the passengers. Thanks to its interior cameras that can monitor all areas of the vehicle, handicapped-accessible entrance ramp, tilting function, 3 stepless doors, a parking location for strollers and wheelchairs with a safety locking function as well as its single-piece panoramic windows, the Conecto model offers maximum level of passenger comfort. Mercedes-Benz Türk’s patented new generation air conditioning concept also makes the vehicle feel much fresher inside. This system reduces the vehicle’s weight and ensures fuel economy while improving air conditioning efficiency to ensure better cooling performance.
New Technologies for A Comfortable Ride
The redesigned cockpit, modern instrument panel and colour display provide its driver a modern atmosphere with lots of comfort. The ergonomically designed cockpit is complemented with matching and accessible buttons, ensuring that the driver has command of everything on board. The multifunctional buttons on the steering wheel help control the trip computer where the driver can monitor the instant and average fuel consumption levels. According to demand, Conecto’s driver cabin can be separated from the passenger compartment.
Innovative and Lightweight Body
Equipped with an extensive active safety package, the Conecto features disc brakes on all four wheels. The vehicle comes as standard with the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ASR (Anti-slip Regulation) and EBS (Electronic Brake System) features to ensure drive safety. The 5-stage retarder integrated on the automatic transmission work with the vehicle’s brake system for a smooth deceleration while reducing brake distance and extending the life of the brake linings. Thanks to its innovative and lightweight body, the Conecto now offers a much lower weight despite its increased dimensions. Developed by Mercedes-Benz engineers, the new body structure provides a “survival space” that the upper body has to guarantee in case of an accident.
