Mercedes’le artan işbirliği, 2020’de Racing Point’e yardım edebilir

Silverstone merkezli olan Racing Point, Kanadalı yatırımcılardan oluşan bir konsorsiyum tarafından satın alınmıştı. 2019 yılında takımlar şampiyonasında hayal kırıklığı yaşayıp yedinci oldular ve bu sonuç, 2021 yılındaki kural değişiklikleriyle ön tarafı hedefleyen İngiliz ekibi pek de memnun etmedi. İtalya’nın haberine göre Andy Green ve teknik ekibi, yeni Racing Point RP20’ye oldukça güveniyorlar. Mercedes’in Brackley’deki rüzgar tünelini kullanan Racing Point, oldukça umut verici sonuçlar elde etti. Bu sayede Mercedes’le güç ünitesi ortaklığının da ötesinde bir işbirliğine sahip olacaklar. Green’in araçları hızlı pistlerde hep iyi oldu ve genellikle yavaş pistlerde daha fazla sorun yaşadı. Mercedes’le yapılan işbirliğiyle birlikte takımın yeni araçta bu sorunun üstesinden gelebileceği ve aerodinamik anlamda çok daha iyi olacağı konuşuluyor. Ayrıca Racing Point, daha az dayanıklılık sorunu yaşaması beklenen Mercedes motoruna güvenebilecek ve bu da aerodinamik anlamda şasiyi daha iyi kullanmalarına yardımcı olacak. Bütün bunlar, Racing Point’in 2020 yılı için iyimser kalmasını sağlıyor. Sergio Perez ve Lance Stroll, yeni sezonda iyi sonuçlar almak istiyorlar. Racing Point, çarpışma testlerini haftalar öncesinden geçti ve artık tamamen aerodinamik parçalara odaklanmış durumda.
