Full warm-up results at the Austrian MotoGPFranco Morbidelli has topped warm-up as one of the few riders to notch up a lap time in drying conditions before rain returned at the Red Bull Ring ahead of the Austrian MotoGP.The Petronas Yamaha rider edged Valentino Rossi to lead the times using the soft dry tyres with damp patches still present on track, following overnight rain, during the opening laps of the 20-minute warm-up session. But midway through the session a heavy rain shower hit the Spielberg circuit to force all riders on to wet tyres in preparation for a potentially wet race.As a result, the warm-up times were effectively split into two with the best laps set on the dry tyres led by Morbidelli and Rossi with Avintia Ducati duo surging up the order with Karel Abraham third and Tito Rabat fourth.Front row starter Fabio Quartararo has claimed fifth place in warm-up ahead of Tech3 KTM’s Miguel Oliveira as the last of the dry tyre times.Record pole-sitter and MotoGP world championship leader Marc Marquez led the times on the wet tyres, taking seventh overall for Repsol Honda, ahead of Johann Zarco on the Red Bull KTM.Alex Rins caught the eye on the Suzuki in the wet in ninth place ahead of Pramac Ducati’s Jack Miller and Monster Yamaha’s Maverick Vinales in 10th and 11th respectively.Ducati duo Andrea Dovizioso and Danilo Petrucci followed up ahead of Pol Espargaro on the Red Bull KTM and LCR Honda’s Takaaki Nakagami who rounded out the top 15 runners. With Jorge Lorenzo’s Repsol Honda stand-in Stefan Bradl 16th, Hafizh Syahrin (Tech3 KTM) edged Aprilia pair Aleix Espargaro and Andrea Iannone as Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) and Francesco Bagnaia (Pramac Ducati) rounded out the timesheet in warm-up.Weather conditions for the Austrian MotoGP are expected to stay dry in time for the race, with the dry-to-wet warm-up providing the only wet track running so far this weekend.
