After this year’s Moto2 campaign – his sixth in the class, Remy Gardner will make the move to MotoGP where he  joins Herve Poncharal once again. Gardner currently leads the Moto2 championship by six points ahead of rookie team-mate Raul Fernandez. The news of becoming MotoGP’s newest addition tops off a good five days for the Australian after taking his second ever Moto2 win last time out at Mugello.Speaking about the news, Gardner said: “Yeah, obviously for me it’s a dream come true. It’s been many years fighting to reach the MotoGP class. “It hasn’t been easy but in the end looks like I’ve made it. For sure I can’t wait to ride the beast, but at the moment we still need to keep focused on the job which is fighting for the championship (Moto2).”Talking of the Moto2 championship, the two Ajo KTM riders have started to separate themselves as firm title favorites. Related ArticlesAnd with Fernandez arguably the standout of that class in 2021 so far, the prospect of the two being teammates in MotoGP next year is a distinct possibility.  Gardner was asked about this and Moto2 as a development class to which he said: “I’ve been a few years in Moto2. It hasn’t been easy for me, let’s say. I maybe haven’t always had the package that everyone else has had, but I think that taught me some good lessons for sure. “And when I did have the package I was still making my own mistakes, so I still had to learn from that and I think for me, yeah, it was a good learning development class. Related Articles”For Raul [Fernandez], the way he’s adapted to the Moto2 bike, honestly, if he moved up next year I’m sure he wouldn’t have a problem adapting to the MotoGP bike. “But yeah, he’s fast, has a lot of talent, and for me it’s good to have him in the box so I can study him [laughs]. If he moves up I think he’ll do a good job. But if he stays I can understand that to get another year of experience.”
