Jorge Martin makes his much anticipated MotoGP return this weekend for Pramac Ducati, but says no specific ‘target’ is in mind. The last race Martin competed in was the second of two opening rounds in Qatar where he took his maiden pole and podium in the premier class. Martin suffered a in the FP3 session at Portimao which ruled him out of the weekend after suffering multiple fractures. The 23 year-old missed Mugello last weekend which was originally the round he had hoped of returning at, therefore leading to a ‘long month’ away for the MotoGP rookie.  Martin said: “It’s been a long month for me, really tough. I’ve been working a lot during this time trying to get recovered as soon as possible. “My target was to come for Mugello, but for sure we know that it’s not the best track to come back. It’s really physically demanding and I could see a lot the bikes moving and shaking, so I thought it was better to come here. Related ArticlesaccImages.createImage(); Johann Zarco, Jorge Martin stay at Pramac Ducati for 2022accImages.createImage(); Michele Pirro in place of Jorge Martin at Italian MotoGP”Finally I could achieve this and hopefully I can have a great weekend. I don’t have any target for any result, just to get some confidence, to make laps, and hopefully we can make a good job.”Martin also spoke about Ducati’s recent success which has seen the Italian manufacturer claim two wins courtesy of Jack Miller and various podiums for Francesco Bagnaia and Johann Zarco in his absence, and whether it was tough to watch from the sidelines.  “It wasn’t frustrating. I think it was the opposite. I was happy for Ducati because at the end it’s not the moment for me to be always on the podium,” added Martin. Related ArticlesaccImages.createImage(); Michele Pirro in place of Jorge Martin at Italian MotoGPaccImages.createImage(); Rabat: A ‘normal’ , until then day was excellent”My target is to learn and just make experience and I’ve been talking with the team and they told me something new that they are working on and everything is coming better, and yeah, happy for Ducati.”
