Dorna have confirmed the 2021 MotoGP calendar will now feature the previously postponed Americas GP at COTA (Circuit of the Americas) on October 1-3, while the Japanese GP at Motegi has been cancelled. Another change to take place includes the OR Grand Prix of Thailand which has been delayed by one week, and will instead take place on October 15-17. “300x1The changes mean Japan will be without a Grand Prix for the second year in a row, due to travel complications caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, while America and Thailand make their return following a year without staging a race of their own.MotoGP calendar update.JPG accImages.createImage();An Official statement provided by MotoGP officials said: “The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports can now announce a new date for the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The event was previously postponed and will now take place from the 1st to the 3rd of October 2021.”The OR Grand Prix of Thailand will therefore take place a week later than previously scheduled, from the 15th to the 17th of October.
