Sam Lowes looked to have snatched pole position for the 2022 Moto2 season-opener in Qatar, but after the session had ended his best lap was cancelled due to track limits and Celestino Vietti promoted to pole ahead of Tony Arbolino.
Lowes, curently battling tendonitis in his wrist, will now complete the front row in third.
