Red Bull hands Ticktum first F1 test in Bahrain

Dan Ticktum will take part in his first official Formula 1 test outing with Red Bull in the post-Bahrain Grand Prix test. 

The 19-year-old Briton, who is Red Bull’s most prominent junior, will get behind the wheel of the team’s 2019 F1 challenger, the RB15, on Wednesday at the Bahrain International Circuit. 

He will conclude Red Bull’s test programme during the first in-season two-day test of 2019, with team regular Max Verstappen driving on the opening day on Tuesday.

Ticktum, a two-time Macau Grand Prix winner, will contest Japan’s Super Formula championship with Honda for Mugen Motorsport this season as he bid to accumulate the points required to qualify for an F1 superlicence, having finished as runner-up behind Mick Schumacher in the 2018 European Formula 3 Championship.
