Daniel Ricciardo has been called before the Formula 1 race stewards over an alleged MGU-K power breach during the opening stage of qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday.Ricciardo qualified eighth for Renault at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, but may be at risk of losing his result after FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer confirmed in a post-session bulletin that a breach had been found.”During qualifying session 1, car number 03, driver Daniel Ricciardo, exceeded the MGU-K power limit of 120 kW, which is in breach of Article 5.2.2 and the Energy Flow Diagram shown in Appendix 3 of the 2019 Formula One Technical Regulations,” the bulletin reads.”I am referring this matter to the stewards for their consideration.”Ricciardo and Renault will see the stewards at 0110 local time in Singapore (1810 BST) regarding the matter. The Australian driver was pleased with his qualifying display when speaking after the session in Singapore, having bounced back from a tricky Friday to make the final stage of qualifying.“Our intention was to get into Q3, so to achieve that with both cars is good. I’m not disappointed, it was a good effort and we’ve recovered well throughout the weekend,” Ricciardo said, having been joined in Q3 by teammate Nico Hulkeberg, who qualified P9.”I’m content with eighth and there’s plenty to play for there. We have to focus on the race now. We’ll see what happens and get along with our business.”The race is the toughest of the year, but I enjoy the challenge.”This post will be updated.
